ESG Log-In: our way is to be sustainable.

The future depends on what we do today, and our vision
of the future includes different perspectives.

We believe that we have an impact and can contribute to all the spaces in which we operate. That’s why, since 2020, when we made a solid commitment to sustainability and ESG practices, we have evolved and presented effective results for our actions, which are increasingly taking place in an ethical, inclusive, diverse, and sustainable manner.

Companies are increasingly looking to reduce their impact on the environment
With this in mind, Log-In offers an environmental calculator that measures the volume of CO2 that is no longer emitted on a given route when cabotage is used.

Do the calculations and find out how our Cabotage service is the best option for the environment and for your business.

Our approach
Boosting sustainable development through logistics integrated with shipping. Our purpose leads and guides us to the future we want.
Our purpose guides all our work towards the future we want to see and belong to. That’s why our actions are based on respect and integrity for the people, resources, operations, and cargo we deal with.
“We know the responsibility that lies before us. We know, however, that the challenges of the ESG agenda are great. That’s why we have designed with balance and built with seriousness, a future in which sustainability is not the end, but the path to sustainable generation and sharing of value with all stakeholders.”.

E - Environmental Commitment

Our actions
We are committed to decarbonizing logistics.
We know that our actions have an impact on the environment, which is why we seek to develop more sustainable logistics through cabotage and multimodality, emitting less CO2 and with less risk of theft, accidents, and cargo damage.

By transporting via cabotage, our customers reduce their GHG (Greenhouse Gas) emissions by up to 80%.

According to the GHG Protocol assumptions, every ton of bunker (fuel used in ships) saved prevents the emission of 3.16 tCO2e.

These figures reflect the results of our commitment to sustainable actions in the company, delivering responsible logistics solutions that gradually reduce the impact on the atmosphere.

By 2022, we will have reduced the GHG intensity of our sailing operations by 26%.

Since the beginning of 2023, the IMO has required a mandatory annual assessment of the volume of GHG emissions from ships. However, since 2022, 100% of Log-In’s ships have been compliant with the new Energy Efficiency (EEXI) and Carbon Intensity (CII) parameters, both of which are internationally required. Even in 2022, while we were still in the management and emissions phase, we received a B grade from the CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project), which is above the world average.

Completing our actions to control GHG emissions for our suppliers, in 2023 we relaunched the Excellence Program, creating the Green Seal, recognizing sustainable and responsible environmental practices for decarbonizing logistics. In addition to this program, we have also strengthened the Clean-up Program, which takes place at the Vila Velha Port Terminal (TVV).

We believe that in this way we can continue to control the impact our company has not only on the environment, but also on the surrounding community.

In 2022 we completed the installation of ballast water treatment systems in 100% of our fleet.

At Log-In, we have an Environmental Monitoring Plan to control the risks and impacts of our operations. This plan includes water, effluent and waste management, and is adapted to the characteristics of shipping activities and the Vila Velha Port Terminal (TVV). We also carry out ballast water treatment, completed in 2022, ensuring compliance with international standards and using state-of-the-art technology.

Our commitments, policies, targets, and initiatives reflect our focus on protecting the environment and the conscious use of natural and water resources, with a view to reducing purchases and using drinking water responsibly. We are committed to conducting our operations in a responsible and sustainable manner.

S - Social Impact

Our actions
Meeting the more specific needs of the people who work with us is one of our main challenges.
With our management model, we offer a full day’s work for each employee, prioritizing professional development, well-being, and people’s protagonism, through Programs focused on diverse internal audiences.

We carry out an annual climate survey and are currently certified by the Great Place to Work (GPTW) as one of the best companies to work for in Rio de Janeiro. The Vila Velha Port Terminal (TVV) was among the Best Companies to Work For in Espírito Santo.

Certification reflects not only the quality of our organizational policies and practices, but also the trust and satisfaction of our employees.

We believe that with the protagonism of our people we can boost sustainable development through logistics integrated with shipping.

Our “Women in Operation, Navigating, Empowering Women of the Sea” and “First Generation” programs aim to train talent in the Company and for the Company. In this way we professionalize people, create jobs, and strengthen our Log-In way.

Our corporate university, Unilog-In, offers employees courses and training of technical excellence, regardless of their level of education.
In 2022 we added 45,000 hours of internal and external training.

We believe that through education we can professionalize the Company’s talents and show the professional potential of our people.

In addition to promoting an equal, fair, and respectful environment, we see Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) as a value of our team.

We believe that attracting and retaining talent with diverse experiences and perspectives contributes to enriching our operations and the execution of daily activities, resulting in a differentiated and potentially more innovative approach.

With our multidisciplinary Squad, the “Mais” Program develops actions related to inclusion and diversity, carrying out an annual Diversity Census, defining action plans that monitor initiatives and the completion of targets.

As this is a completely important issue, we aim to raise awareness and promote debates among our employees through Diversity and Inclusion Week.

The Community on Board Program is our main social investment.

Starting in December 2021, in the neighborhoods around the Vila Velha Port Terminal (ES), it allows Log-In and the community to walk side by side. It’s our way of integrating the community into the company.

Through this program, we form partnerships with NGOs that generate development opportunities for children and adolescents aged 6 to 17 and income generation for women, all of whom live in the surrounding communities.

G - Governance

As a publicly traded company – Log-In – Logística Intermodal S.A. – we have been listed (LOGN3) since our IPO in 2007, when we became the first logistics company to join B3’s Novo Mercado. This allowed us to connect with investors, which is why we promoted Log-In Day, an event in which we were able to strengthen ties and demonstrate the transparency and efficiency of our operations.

With our governance structure, we can also establish safety measures for our employees through our whistleblowing channels and ethical conduct manual.
