According to the 2024 Waterway Performance Report from the Brazilian National Waterway Transport Agency (ANTAQ), the sector moved 1.32 billion tons between January and December of last year — the highest volume ever recorded in the historical series, representing a 1.18% increase compared to 2023.

An analysis by the Institute of Logistics and Supply Chain (ILOS) indicates that this positive performance reflects a combination of structural factors: significant investments in fleet expansion, the creation of new routes, the adoption of smarter logistics solutions, and greater adoption of multimodal transport by both industry and retail — integrating coastal shipping with road transport and warehousing.

Coastal shipping, in particular, also posted impressive results: 293.56 million tons were transported in 2024, reinforcing its importance in Brazil’s logistics landscape. Within that total, containerized cargo accounted for 46.76 million tons, driven by the growing demand for more sustainable and integrated alternatives.

With benefits that go beyond efficiency, this mode of transport can reduce logistics costs by up to 30%, cut CO₂ emissions by up to 85%, and enable door-to-door operations with greater safety and scalability.

These advantages make coastal shipping not only a viable but a desirable alternative for connecting industrial centers, distribution hubs, and consumer markets across different regions of the country, contributing to a more balanced and sustainable logistics matrix.

In this context, Log-In Integrated Logistics positions itself as a key player in this transformation. With an integrated approach and tailor-made logistics solutions, we connect maritime transport with road freight and warehousing, promoting a smarter, more connected, and results-oriented supply chain.

By combining innovation, environmental commitment, and operational excellence, Log-In Logística reaffirms its strategic role in advancing coastal shipping and strengthening Brazil’s logistics infrastructure.
